The SPCA of Texas in the city of McKinney opened its first clinic in 1976. More than 31,936 animals are admitted each year at the SPCA of Texas 3 facilities. The McKinney facility found loving and responsible homes for approximately 3,912 animals. The SPCA of Texas has performed more than 170,000 spay and neuter surgeries on dogs and cats. More than 9,826 calls and e-mails are received each year regarding investigations. . In compliance with local law enforcement officials, they relieved 1,098 animals from cruel living conditions.

The SPA of Texas in McKinney in compliance with the other divisions of the Texas SPCA provides continual public information through all avenues of available media, including live, weekly television spots & radio shows, as well as the quarterly Animal Talk newsletter. The following programs are offered at this Humane Society: Rescue and Investigations, Volunteer Program, Foster Program, Humane Education, SPCA Social Service Programs, Dealey Life Care Program, and Lost and Found Program.
